Tuition

Comprehensive tuition for Field School for 2019-2020 is $17,600.

Unlike the policies that generally prevail in education, this is an all-inclusive tuition (including all fees, such as athletics fees, school books, field trip costs, after school fees, shuttle bus fees, uniforms, one set of Field School sports gear). Parents will be expected to provide school supplies (pens, pencils, notebooks, paper), dress code clothes, musical instruments and most personal sports equipment. This cuts down on our administrative costs, and we hope it makes your family's school year more convenient.

Field School is proud of having met 100% of demonstrated need for our families since our school’s inception, and we are interested in working with your family as well to meet your financial aid needs. Our Variable Tuition program is a sliding scale in which families pay a percentage of tuition based on factors including annual household income, bank account and investment portfolio total (not including retirement accounts), mortgage/rent and other debt payments, and number of students in tuition paying schools (including Field School). Despite what you may have heard, there is no specific income cutoff for financial aid, and no school will expect you to sell your home to pay your child’s tuition. Home equity is factored into the evaluation, but it is not a major consideration.

The following sample aid calculations will give you a sense of how a school might determine family contributions:

All Variable Tuition is based on need and requires your Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) from School & Student Services (SSS), a part of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), as well as a copies of your Form W-2, IRS Form 1040, and all related schedules. The PFS also provides space to provide a written statement.

  • Field School uses SSS, an independent, third-party organization, to collect the financial data used to determine Variable Tuition. The analysis provided by SSS along with other information provided by the family on the PFS is used by the school to calculate the final Variable Tuition. Field School’s application code is 4731.
  • All Variable Tuition is reviewed and revised on an annual basis.
  • The first deadline for Variable Tuition requests for 2019-20 is March 1, 2019, though Variable Tuition is calculated on a rolling basis as students are admitted.
